The two previous pictures are taken of the same place. You can see the difference the recent rain has made in the second one.
The same goes for these two pictures above. Recent rain has caused flood conditions in parts of this area. The high water level has caused the pre race clinics to be cancelled. The high, fast moving water is just too dangerous for novices. Good news is that no major rain is expected this week and the long range forecast is for sunny weather through race weekend.
